Sound View Community Media, Inc. (“SVCM”) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides Public, Educational, and Governmental Access Channels and facilities as a public service to the communities of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Milford, Orange, Stratford, and Woodbridge.
We provide PEG programming to Altice-Cablevision Litchfield and Frontier Communications for the municipalities serving over 85,000 cable television subscribers in the franchise territory since 1999.

OUR GOAL

The Sound Affect team will explore the history of television and public broadcasting. Learn the fundamentals of creating a storyboard and proper composition, staging for clarity, and pitching an idea. The team will engage in team-building activities and develop the skills needed for television through hands-on projects. Students will learn how to use field and studio cameras and learn how to use devices/ software to create programs. In the interest of fully embracing emerging technologies and convergent media, The Sound Affect staff will continue to grow online and add to our presence on social media, which complements our television broadcast.

Sound View’s mission always has and will continue to be based on the notion of public access being television made for the community by the community. Sound View is committed to the safety and dignity of all visitors, television producers, television guests, and staff. Therefore, We will seek and share stories with high news value to enrich, inform, and entertain the school community and Surrounding region.
